Canadian author of the Russian-Ukrainian roots presents in his play from 2010 a fiercely grotesque dance, the theme of which is the fate of Lenin's embalmers, Borislav Zbarskij and Vladimir Vorobjov. Stalin's idea to ensure Lenin, as an icon of the new regime, eternal life in a mausoleum, starts unstoppable mechanism: Zbarskij and Vorobjov are engaged by Stalin´s henchman Krasin to fulfil the task. This success brings both men (although as Jews they are constantly suspected of sympathy for Stalin´s rival Trotskij) an unexpected career: Zbarskij in the political field, Vorobjov in the academic sphere. But let yourself be surprised how the farce, which says a lot about cruel and primitive atavistic instincts of real communism, will turn out. The play takes the form of a farce, also featuring the demonstrations of embalming of Lenin's anatomy or contemporary jokes told with pleasure by the dead Lenin periodically getting up from his death. We will present it in the Small Theatre on December 8th to the Centenary of the Great October Socialist Revolution.
PS. The Great October Revolution was celebrated on November 7th, so why the premiere to its cenenary couldn´t be on the eights?
